SPECIAL “GET ENGAGED” EVENTS
Organized by Hands On Network, events in San Francisco, Chicago, and Philadelphia will bring singles together for service—providing fun opportunities for individuals to meet and make a difference. Participants will receive free two-month memberships to Perfectmatch.com and flowers courtesy of Organic Bouquet.
San Francisco: Beauty and the Beast
The San Francisco Zoo is one of the nation’s premier zoos—connecting people with wildlife and with each other. At this event, singles will beautify the zoo by planting and refurbishing various gardens and exhibits. Volunteers are free to spend the day at the zoo after the project ends.
When: Saturday, Feb. 10, 8:00–11:00 a.m.

Chicago: Valentines and Volunteers
Festival
Working with local partner CARC, singles will host a Valentine’s Day to benefit adults with developmental disabilities. Volunteers will assist with various activities such as making root beer floats, decorating and exchanging Valentine’s Day cards, dancing, and singing karaoke.
When: Saturday, Feb. 10, 1:00–4:00 p.m.

Philadelphia: Hearts and Arts Day
In the city of brotherly love, singles will work with disadvantaged children to make Valentine’s Day arts and crafts to give to parents and elderly neighbors. With the Greater Philadelphia Cares, volunteers will work with students from Sheppard Elementary School, which has a poverty level of approximately 98 percent.
When: Saturday, Feb. 10, 11:00 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
